Feminist Wednesday is Back from Break

FEMINIST WEDNESDAY

FEMINIST WEDNESDAYHappy Feminist Wednesday!

I am so happy to announce we are back from break and ready to take on 2016 with more girl power than ever. We have so much new content and excitement in store for you– firstly I’d like to introduce my new assistant editor, Kylie Kendall, and a powerhouse of new writers on our team: Taylor Ciambra, Tiffany D’Souza, Whitney Kipper, and Jeryl-Anne Asaro. They’ve been busy beavers these last couple months and we can’t wait to share their stories.

Since November, I’ve been having trouble getting my groove back. My Dad passed away after a two year triumph with cancer. I say triumph because cancer never won over his positive attitude, love, and inspiration. Although I am tremendously heartbroken, I am so very thankful to have such a profound group of women who have supported me since the beginning of this journey. If it wasn’t for Erin, my girlfriend, family, friends, and the everlasting inspiration of the Feminist Wednesday and Dream, Girl teams and communities, I wouldn’t be where I am today. Support has been everything for me. Feminist Wednesday is such a huge piece of my heart and I have to say thank you for the patience and understanding I’ve been given until I found my way back home.

I’m thrilled to be a medium for the message we all have in our hearts. With that being said, please share your voice with us. Let the story in your heart be heard. You bring Feminist Wednesday to life, and we all know the limitless power of encouragement that comes from giving ourselves the credit we deserve and celebrating it with each other. This year has already graced itself upon the progress we’ve made, the strides that still need to be taken, and the significance of standing up and speaking out. That’s what we’re here for, and that’s the party we are inviting you to.

Betty wanted me to give you these invitations (before they float away):

As always, thank you for your love and support. Let’s kick this year’s patriarchy together!

Alicia
